Recruitment
Recruitment is one of our top priorities at Indiana Zeta. Our goal is to find men that show potential for becoming great members in our house. While we do value someone's resume, so to speak, we are more interested in potential. We are looking for people who will show a passion for our house, people who can bring diversity and leadership to our brotherhood.

Recruitment Schedule
The following is the Spring 2010 spring recruitment schedule. We do, however, practice year recruitment. Although Valparaiso University does not permit freshmen to join greek life until the spring semester, you are welcome to attend our fall recruitment events if you're interested in becoming a SigEp in the future. If you miss out on the semester events and are still interested in joining, please contact the VP of recruitment.
Sigma Phi Epsilon would like to invite all men considering joining Greek life to attend our rush events for Spring 2011. Come down and have a great time while getting to know our brothers!
Saturday, January 14th: Fraternity Open House @ 2:00 pm
•Meet at the Harre Union at 2pm, and tour all of Valpo’s fraternities.
Sunday, January 15th: Ice Bowl @ 2:00 pm
•Snow football on the Law School field. Chili and NFL playoffs on the big screen after!
Tuesday, January 17th: Fluorescent Dodgeball @ 7:00 pm
•At the SigEp house. You have never played dogeball like this.
Sunday, January 21st: Chicago Wolves Game @ 5:00 pm
•Meet at 3:30 by the Union Welcome Desk, then we’ll drive to catch the 5pm game!
Monday, January 23rd: Ping Pong/Foosball Tournaments @ 6:00 pm
•Single elimination tournaments at the house. Free food for all, prize for the champion!
Thursday, January 25th: Ice Hoceky and Curling @ 6:00pm
•Come down to the house and play some ice hockey with the brothers! Make sure to bring your skates!
Sunday, January 28th: Paintball @ Noon
•Meet outside of Lankenau Hall at 11:30 for an afternoon of paintball!
Wednesday, February 1st: Preference Dinner

Recruitment Policies
Spring-Deferred Recruitment
Valparaiso has a policy that does not allow freshman to join a fraternity their first semester. We are also not allowed to have formal rush events. However, we are always interested in meeting new people. We are making a conscious effort to be visible on campus and making connections that help us get to know freshman well by the time rush period comes around.
Our Standards
Because we hold education in such high regard, we require a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 in order to receive a bid from our fraternity. After joining, all brothers must maintain a GPA of 2.75 in order to avoid academic probation. We are at Valparaiso to learn first and foremost, Sigma Phi Epsilon should only support this effort. If the fraternity becomes too much of a burden on a brother's studies, some of a brother's responsibilities and privileges are removed so that he can bring his grades back up.
